2019 - A Sneak Peak into What Will be On Trend

It's a new year, and that means new trends in the wedding industry to look forward to! You never know, but we think 2019 will be a year to remember. Just a month into 2019 and we're already seeing a trend in.... balloons. They are a great way to add some fun to your event or a POP of color. (See what we did there.) Balloon arrangements are sure to be the latest Pinterest trend for upcoming events this year. And what's even more fun about them - there are so many options!

In addition to the balloons, look for 2019 to include lots of florals. From boho greenery to super bright tropicals. Brides are putting their own stamp on their events with unique floral designs. Floral walls make an incredible photo backdrop and it's something your guests will remember long after the party ends.

We're looking forward to a fantastic 2019 and we can't wait to see what else is in store. We have some pretty fabulous ideas brewing....

The Hottest Trends in Wedding Dessert

Our friends at Wedding wire are breaking down all the tricks for the latest wedding desserts. According to them, the wedding cake is still the traditional wedding dessert, but today, couples are serving up more than just a slice of cake at the end of their wedding reception. By expanding your wedding dessert ideas to an array of personal favorites, exciting flavors and surprising sweets, couples can turn their sweet dreams into a delicious reality.

They spoke with caterers and bakers from across the country to discover what they’re expecting on dessert menus in 2019. We were (pleasantly) surprised to learn that desserts will be getting an update with the new addition of savories and tropical flavors.

Serve Something Savory

Desserts don’t always have to satisfy a sweet tooth. “Desserts have become less about the super sweet factor and today are more savory, sometimes incorporating herbs,” says Jeremy Wachalter of Cobblestone Catering in Brooklyn, New York. “For example, at a fall wedding, we can incorporate pumpkins by creating a pumpkin thyme donut with spiced cider glaze.”

Passed Instead of Plated Desserts

To switch up your wedding dessert ideas, couples are opting for passed desserts instead of a plated dessert or dessert bar. “Passed desserts are great for people who want to take a bite here and there and not have to sit for another course,” explains Jeremy Wachalter. Passed desserts will also keep your guests on the dance floor.

Add Some Sparkle

One of the top wedding dessert trends for 2019? Sparkling desserts! “Sprinkles, glitter and sugar crystals will be added to everything from macarons to mini desserts,” explains Rachel Bruzek of D’Amico Catering in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Talk to your caterer and/or baker about colors that will complement your wedding’s palette and ways to add some sparkle to your desserts, whether it’s ice cream, cupcakes or cookies!

Delicious Drinks for Dessert

It’s not just cookies and pastries that are gracing dessert menus. Dessert drinks are one of the top wedding dessert trends for 2019. Ashley Robbins of Flirt with Dessert in Savannah, Georgia, tells WeddingWire that hot chocolate bars and dessert-like signature drinks are being added to end-of-the-night menus. Couples can make a hot cocoa bar interactive by allowing guests to choose their own toppings: flavored marshmallows, whipped cream, grated cinnamon, mini, chocolate shavings and peppermint candy. Adds Ashley, “The Chocolate Peanut Butter Martini is my favorite!”

Fruit Flavors

“One of our most popular flavors right now is white chocolate raspberry, but anything with fresh fruit has been very popular,” says Ashley Robbins. Lemon, banana, blueberry, strawberry and apple are some of the fruity-flavors included in pastries, macarons and pie desserts. “In Georgia, for example, peach shows up everywhere and Peach Cobbler and Peach Pie are extremely popular desserts, but incorporating peach into anything from cupcakes and cake pops to ice cream and macarons is fun,” she explains.

Think You've Found "The One"?

Finding your perfect wedding dress can be nearly as difficult as finding the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. From ball gowns to bias-cut numbers the options are endless. To help you narrow down the search, we rounded up 5 signs that you may have finally found the one.

1. You can suddenly picture walking down the aisle towards your future hubby.

Picturing your groom's awestruck reaction to your red carpet-worthy gown as you glide down the aisle? The hunt is over.

2. Someone in your group is tearing up, even if it's not you.

You may not be the type for overt displays of emotion, but chances are if your mother, sister, or best friend is sniffling, you've found your ideal match.

3. You're convinced your body has never looked better.

Whether it is a cinched mermaid dress that emphasizes your curves or a slim silk sheath that complements your athletic frame, Gisele has nothing on you when you're clad in this stunner.

4. Your gown may not be pink, but your face has taken on a rosy glow.

Remember your first date with your guy, and how you blushed furiously when compliments were involved? If your dress evokes the same blushing reaction, it may be your sartorial match made in heaven.

5. You feel like you're falling in love all over again.

If you're experiencing a coup de coeur like the one you felt when first falling for your groom, it's time to say yes to your dress.
